Meet the Teachers
Al Nur School is commited to bringing the highest of standards and quality to full time Islamic education. For the 2008-2009 school year, we have up to Fourth grade, and plan to add at least one new grade every year, InshaAllah.
Our teachers were selected based on their experience, education, certification, and ability to teach the children the material. Our curriculum and books are constantly being assessed to make sure they meet our high standands for quality education and effectiveness. Sister Ameenah Nayef
Sister Ameenah currently teaches the English subjects for Pre School and Pre Kindergarten, and she is the Assistant Director. She has a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education, and is Montessori trained and certified. She started her own Islamic school at one time, and is very strong in teaching literacy and math. She has many years of teaching experience and working with young children.
Sister Nemat Marzouk
Sister Nemat currently teaches Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies for Pre School and Pre Kindergarten. She graduated with a Medical degree from Egypt. She has been teaching for over 3 years now. She has strong Arabic, Quran, and Tajweed knowledge, and is currently working on her Child Development Associates. She is very good with her students and they love her like their own grandmother.
Sister Fatima Sondan Oner
Sister Fatima currently teaches English, Math, Science, and Social Studies for Kindergarten and First Grade. She originally graduated with a degree in Geophysical Engineering and now has over 8 years of teaching experience in Early Childhood. She is a fully certified professional private school classroom teacher with an endorsement in Primary Education, Kindergarten. She has a certificate in the area of Childcare business management and Child Development and also has Director Qualifications. She is currently working on her Child Development Associates.
Sister Fariza Adnan Adliby
Sister Fariza currently teaches Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies for Kindergarten and First Grade. She originally graduated with a degree in Political Science from Egypt, a Diploma in preaching Islam, and post graduate degrees in Special Education. She has over 14 years of teaching experience with Early Childhood and Special Education. She is certified to teach Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies for Early Childhood. She has taught in Egypt as well as in the United States. She has a very good grasp of the Arabic and English language. She has strong Tajweed and Islamic knowledge. She also has an alternate teacher certification.
Sister Hina Iqbal
Sister Hina currently teaches English, Math, Science, and Social Studies for Second Grade. She is a state certified teacher. She has taught for Cyfair ISD and is especially proficient in teaching reading comprehension, critical thinking skills, vocabulary, and writing. This is her second year teaching Second Grade with Al Nur School.
Sister Alana Raybon
Sister Alana currently teaches English, Math, Science, and Social Studies for Third and Fourth Grade. She is a state certified teacher, and has taught third grade in Spring Branch ISD for 5 years. She is excellent with her students and they all love her as their teacher.
Sister Abir Barazi
Sister Abir currently teaches Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies for Second, Third and Fourth Grade. She has strong knowledge of Arabic, Quran, Islamic Studies and Tajweed. She has taught for over 5 years at different Islamic schools throughout Houston. She is very kind and great with her students and they all love her. Her program is aimed at teaching her students how to read fluently the entire Quran and understand it at their given age level. Simultaneously, our students memorize the Quran and learn the Arabic language and its grammar.
