Meet the Teachers and Administration
Al Nur School is commited to bringing the highest of standards and quality to full time Islamic education. For the 2009-2010 school year, we have up to Fifth grade, and plan to add at least one new grade every year, InshaAllah.
Our teachers were selected based on their experience, education, certification, and ability to teach the children the material. Our curriculum and books are constantly being assessed to make sure they meet our high standands for quality education and effectiveness. Sister Howaida Ahmed
Sister Howaida is the Founder and Principal of Al Nur School. She has a Degree in Biomedical Engineering, has her Early Childhood Director's License, and her Child Development Associates. This is her fourth year serving as Principal.
Sister Sadia Kasim
Sister Sadia currently teaches English, Math, Science, and Social Studies to our Preschool and Pre Kindergarten. She has a Child Development Associates and is currently pursuing her bachelors degree in psychology and education. This is her third year working with Al Nur School and has an excellent track record in teaching her students the skills they need to succeed in Kindergarten.
Sister Rania Hamdy
Sister Rania currently teaches Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies for Pre School and Pre Kindergarten. She graduated with a BA degree in the field of Social Studies from Egypt. She has 3 years of Early Childhood teaching experience with Child Time and El Farouq Weekend School. She has Arabic, Quran, and Tajweed knowledge, and currently holds her Child Development Associates. She has a very nurturing personality and her students love her.
Sister Fatma Sondal Oner
Sister Fatma currently teaches Language Arts and Social Studies for Kindergarten thru Second Grades. She originally graduated with a degree in Geophysical Engineering and now has over 8 years of teaching experience in Early Childhood. She is a fully certified professional private school classroom teacher with an endorsement in Primary Education, Kindergarten. She has a certificate in the area of Childcare business management and Child Development and also has Director Qualifications. She currently has her Child Development Associates as well.
Sister Amal Zanon
Sister Amal currently teaches Math and Science for Kindergarten thru Second Grades. She has her BS degree in... She has over 3 years of teaching experience with Al Huda Private School. She is very creative and hands on in her classroom and her students enjoy and love learning in her class.
Sister Fariza Adnan Adliby
Sister Fariza currently teaches Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies for Kindergarten thru Second Grades. She originally graduated with a degree in Political Science from Egypt, a Diploma in preaching Islam, and post graduate degrees in Special Education. She has over 14 years of teaching experience with Early Childhood and Special Education. She is certified to teach Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies for Early Childhood. She has taught in Egypt as well as in the United States. She has a very good grasp of the Arabic and English language. She has strong Tajweed and Islamic knowledge. She also has an alternate teacher certification.
Sister Hina Iqbal
Sister Hina currently teaches English, Math, and Social Studies for Third thru Fifth Grades. She is a state certified teacher. This is her third year teaching with Al Nur School. She has also taught for Cyfair ISD and is especially proficient in teaching reading comprehension, critical thinking skills, vocabulary, and writing.
Sister Sabah Chaudhry
Sister Sabah currently teaches Science for Third thru Fifth Grades. She holds a BS in Applied Science in Engineering and minor in Religion from Rutgers University. She has 5 years teaching experience with Third thru Twelfth graders.
Sister Abir Barazi
Sister Abir currently teaches Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies for Third thru Fifth Grades. She has strong knowledge of Arabic, Quran, Islamic Studies and Tajweed. She has taught for over 5 years at different Islamic schools throughout Houston. She is very kind her students and they all love her. Her program is aimed at teaching her students how to read fluently the entire Quran and understand it at their given age level. Simultaneously, our students memorize the Quran and learn the Arabic language and its grammar.
