Meet the Teachers and Administration

Al Nur School is commited to bringing the highest of standards and quality to full time Islamic education. For the 2011-2012 school year, we have up to Seventh grade, and plan to add at least one new grade every year, InshaAllah.

Our teachers were selected based on their experience, education, certification, and ability to teach the children the material. Our curriculum and books are constantly being assessed to make sure they meet our high standands for quality education and effectiveness. Sister Howaida Ahmed
Sister Howaida is the Founder and Principal of Al Nur School. She has a Degree in Biomedical Engineering, has her Early Childhood Director's License, and her Child Development Associates. This is her Sixth year serving as Principal.

Sister Samira Nour
Sister Samira is a new member of our staff and will be teaching our Toddlers at Al Nur School. She has her Associates Degree in Psychology from California. She holds a Child Development Associates as well as her Early Childhood Director's License. She is both fluent in English and Arabic. Her goal as a teacher is to provide the highest quality of childcare and development.

Sister Regina Vasquez
Sister Regina is a new member of our staff and teaches the core academic subjects for Pre School and Pre Kindergarten. She holds a bachelors degree in Psychology/Pols and understands the emotional and developmental needs of our youngest learners. She is a Texas certified teacher in the areas of English as a Second Language and as a Generalist for Early Childhood through 6th grade. She has over 7 years of classroom experience in 3 school districts as well as in Saudi Arabia. She was the creator and director of Toddler Time an Islamic early childhood mommy and child class that was enjoyed by families in Houston, Scotland and Saudi Arabia and continues today in Jordan. She believes students thrive in a stimulating and nurturing environment where self-expression is welcomed, affective filters are lowered and inquiry based learning is abundant.

Sister Amany Attar
Sister Amany currently teaches Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies for Pre School and Pre Kindergarten. She has Arabic, Quran, and Tajweed knowledge, and currently holds her Child Development Associates. This will be her second year with Al Nur School. She has a very nurturing personality and her students love her.

Sister Fatma Sondal Oner
Sister Fatma is currently the Director and teaches Language Arts and Mathematics for Kindergarten thru Second Grades. She originally graduated with a degree in Geophysical Engineering and now has over 8 years of teaching experience in Early Childhood. She is a fully certified professional private school classroom teacher with an endorsement in Primary Education, Kindergarten. She has a certificate in the area of Childcare business management and Child Development and also has Director Qualifications. She currently has her Child Development Associates as well. This will be her Sixth year working with Al Nur School.

Sister Amudat Adesina
Sister Amudat currently teaches Science and Social Studies for Kindergarten thru Second Grades. She has her Masters degree in curriculum and instruction. She has over 10 years of teaching experience. She is very creative and hands on in her classroom and her students enjoy and love learning in her class.

Sister Zenab Ibrahim Hamdan
Sister Zenab Ibrahim Hamdan currently teaches Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies for Kindergarten thru Second Grades. She graduated with a degree in Islamic Studies from Saudia Arabia. MashaAllah she has memorized the entire Quran, and has certification in Teaching Methods, and Quran teacher preparation, as well as Certificates (Ijaazah) in “Qaidah Nuraaniah”, “Mudthakkirah in Tajweed”, and “sanad” (chain on narrators to rasulullah SAW). She has over 10 years of teaching experience in numerous Islamic sciences ranging from Tajweed to Principles of prostelyzation. She also has over ten years teaching experience in quran: tajweed, makhaarij alhuroof, recitation, memorization (hifdth). She has a good grasp of the Arabic language. She has strong Tajweed and Islamic knowledge.

Sister Khadija Siddiqi
Sister Khadija teaches Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies for Fourth and Fifth Grades. Sister Khadija has her Bachelors degree in Science, and has her Texas Educators Certificate as EC-8 Generalist, 8-12 English. She has experience teaching in Katy ISD, Alief ISD and HISD. She is dedicated, highly motivated and passionate about teaching, and she loves children. She loves to incorporate an interactive form of teaching to ensure that all students of different learning levels and styles get an equal opportunity for success.

Sister Aamna Mian
Sister Aamna currently teaches the core acedemic subjects for Sixth and Seventh Grades. She is a certified teacher from the state of Texas.

Sister Seham Shorabh
Sister Seham currently teaches Arabic, Quran Memorization, and Islamic Studies for Third thru Fifth Grades. She has strong knowledge of Arabic, Quran, Islamic Studies and Tajweed. Her program is a Quran memorization (hifdth) program with meanings for the students age level. Simultaneously, she focuses on teaching Islamic knowledge and manners as well as the Arabic language and its grammar.

Sister Bahja Aldhubi
Sister Bahja currently teaches Arabic, Quran Memorization, and Islamic Studies for Sixth and Seventh Grades. She has a Bachelors of Science degree in Geography and History from Sana'a University in Yemen. She has 5 years experience teaching Arabic, Quran, Islamic Studies. Her program is a Quran memorization (hifdth) program with meanings for the students age level. Simultaneously, she focuses on teaching Islamic knowledge and manners as well as the Arabic language and its grammar.
